GoodWinds Music

Mary's favorite music gig is the pit orchestra and community ensembles, where she enjoys providing professional-level woodwinds. She also likes to sing charm songs from musicals and folk songs supporting spiritual quests and social justice.
"You have inspired me to dig deeper into the music, to connect with it.
To not just play notes, but create music and memories for myself and others. Thank you so much for working with me."
--- BFL, high school junior, clarinet
"Mary is an extremely talented musician, both in her vocal abilities as well as in her talents on the oboe and mandolin.
I often made special trips to hear her perform in concert. Her style is very mellow, very spiritual, very inspired.
She plays folk, classical, religious music, and show tunes. She is very accomplished and easy to listen to."

Health Education -- With a Twist: "Curative Characters"

In 2002, while working as a community health nurseon Native reservations in San Diego county,
Mary channeled her Nursing knowledge and assessment skills through
Auntie Stress-Stella, a health fortune teller
who has a knack for giving out advice
on Wellness through comic means.
In this guise, Mary assures her 'customers' at health fairs
that this is GIMMICK -- but it sure makes education FUN.
Mary then invented 4 other characters to address
other needs: Caregiver Support, Cancer / Chronic Illness, Death and Dying.
Three are pictured below, and yes, they are copyrighted! Not pictured:
Fiona O'Lafferty, OMG (the Order of the Many Giggles) and We'Alwyn (412-year-old tomte/elf).
Sadly enough, Mary hopes to still inspire other to CREATE WELLNESS but will likely be retiring these imaginary people due to her progressing MS-light.
