The Dream of Saint Clare: Reflections on Divine Dependence has morphed into a Reflective Memoire. Thanks to beta readers, who found in the initial manuscript 'more than one book', I am breaking this into a reflection on a waking vision (or actual dream) that Saint Clare had back in the 13th Century (Part I) and my memories of living a life of 'Divine Dependence' as a mystic and daughter of the Church (Part II).
A formal Franciscan since 1999 (my leanings that way go back to the 1970s), I have been inspired by Clare's calm trust in God to meet her every need and to share her quiet Power to heal and restore those with relational, physical, and mental illness.
In this Reflection Piece, I tackle the overlap of relationship/sexuality and spirituality -- at least in my own life and in those of the Western Mystics. I share memories of how I have learned to depend upon God's Goodness both as a widow and a Franciscan.
If you want to know more of my own formational journey, read The Wrong Side of Eternity.
If you crave a quieter and closer walk with the Lord (or even if you find 'dreams' fascinating in the Jungian sense), I'm sure you will find this reflective autobiographyan insightful read -- once it's actually expanded and finished!
